Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Analytical Chemist to join our dynamic R&D team in Indianapolis. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about analytical chemistry, offering comprehensive training in advanced techniques such as High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior chemists in the preparation of samples for analysis using various techniques.
- Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation, including HPLC and GC-MS, under direct supervision following established SOPs.
- Perform routine calibration and preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Accurately record and document experimental data, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems.
- Contribute to data analysis and interpretation, identifying trends and reporting deviations.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., cGMP).
- Participate in laboratory meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Learn and master new analytical methods and techniques through structured training programs.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of general chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency with basic laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, balances, centrifuges).
- Eagerness to learn and develop expertise in complex analytical instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous laboratory experience, either academic or through an internship, in a chemistry or related scientific setting.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or other regulated laboratory environments.
- Basic understanding of chromatographic principles.
