Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical-Surgical Nurse Practitioner to join our team for an Advanced Clinical Rotation. This unique opportunity is designed for Nurse Practitioners looking to deepen their expertise in a dynamic medical-surgical environment, working with a diverse patient population and complex cases. You will play a critical role in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and management, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This rotation offers exposure to advanced clinical practices, professional development, and the chance to contribute significantly to patient outcomes while receiving top rates for your specialized skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments.
- Formulate differential diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and other therapeutic interventions in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and self-management strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in daily rounds, case conferences, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice within the medical-surgical unit.
Required Skills
- Current active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Illinois with Nurse Practitioner certification (NP-C, FNP, ANP, or AGACNP).
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a medical-surgical, acute care, or equivalent setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced clinical rotations or fellowship programs.
- Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN).
- Experience in a large academic or tertiary care medical center.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
