Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Weekend Camp Counselors with a strong focus on youth leadership to join our team in Wesley Chapel. This part-time role is perfect for individuals passionate about empowering young people, facilitating engaging activities, and creating a safe, inclusive, and fun camp environment. As a Camp Counselor, you will mentor youth, lead group games, assist with program delivery, and help cultivate essential life skills. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and teens, fostering their growth into confident leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise groups of campers during weekend activities, ensuring their safety and participation.
- Facilitate and actively participate in a variety of camp programs including sports, arts and crafts, team-building exercises, and outdoor adventures.
- Act as a positive role model and mentor, encouraging campers to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of daily camp schedules and special events.
- Ensure compliance with all YMCA policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members.
- Help resolve conflicts and encourage positive social interactions among campers.
- Provide basic first aid when necessary (training will be provided or must be current).

- Enrollment in or completion of a college degree program in education, recreation, psychology, or a related field.
- Experience in specific camp activities such as outdoor education, arts, or sports.
