Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Logistics Technician with a strong focus on freight and distribution to join our team in Greeley, CO. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling, storage, and distribution of pharmaceutical products within our logistics network. This includes managing inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards, and maintaining meticulous inventory control. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to ensuring the safe and timely delivery of critical healthcare supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the receiving, unpacking, and storage of pharmaceutical products, verifying accuracy against purchase orders.
- Prepare and package outgoing pharmaceutical shipments, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for freight carriers.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies, maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Coordinate with freight companies for pickups and deliveries, tracking shipments as needed.
- Ensure all logistics operations comply with FDA regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) for sensitive pharmaceutical products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Assist with resolving shipping and receiving issues, escalating complex problems to management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics department.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in logistics, warehousing, or freight operations, preferably within a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift certification).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Previous experience with cold chain logistics for pharmaceutical products.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
- Certification in Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
