Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Power Washing Hose Handler – Support Lead Technician to join our team in Geelong. In this critical role, you will not only be responsible for expert handling of power washing equipment and hoses but also for providing essential support and guidance to junior technicians. You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of power washing equipment, maintain high standards of cleanliness, and assist in the setup, troubleshooting, and packing down of job sites. This role requires a strong commitment to safety protocols, excellent physical stamina, and a keen eye for detail to ensure all tasks are completed to Programmed’s stringent quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage power washing hoses and equipment safely and efficiently on various surfaces.
- Provide hands-on support and guidance to junior technicians, assisting with training and problem-solving.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on power washing equipment.
- Prepare job sites, including setting up safety barriers, arranging equipment, and ensuring water access.
- Conduct pre-start checks and post-job clean-up of equipment and work areas.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, equipment usage, and maintenance logs.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure smooth project execution.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of equipment from company vehicles.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in power washing or related outdoor cleaning services.
- Proven ability to safely operate high-pressure washing equipment and various nozzles.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to power washing and working at heights (if applicable).
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable transport.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications in high-pressure water blasting or confined space entry.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card).
