Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Athletic Director / Head Coach to lead our comprehensive sports program, with a particular focus on developing and managing international sponsorship opportunities. This pivotal role involves overseeing all athletic activities, coaching a primary sport (e.g., Rugby, Football, Hockey, Cricket), and strategically engaging with international partners to secure funding and enhance our global athletic profile. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader, an exceptional coach, and a skilled communicator passionate about youth development through sport.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the school's athletic department, aligning with the school's overall mission.
- Oversee the recruitment, supervision, and professional development of coaching staff and athletic support personnel.
- Manage the athletic budget, equipment procurement, and facility scheduling for all sports programs.
- Act as Head Coach for a major school sport, leading training, game strategies, and team development.
- Identify, cultivate, and secure international sponsorship opportunities to support athletic programs, tours, and scholarships.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international sports organizations, federations, and potential sponsors.
- Organize and manage international sports tours, competitions, and exchange programs for students.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant athletic regulations, safeguarding policies, and school standards.
- Promote a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic excellence among student-athletes.
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress and welfare, providing support as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in an Athletic Director or Head Coach role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Demonstrable success in securing and managing international sponsorships or partnerships.
- Expertise in coaching a major sport (e.g., Rugby, Football, Hockey, Cricket) at a high level.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight.
- Knowledge of international sports regulations and youth development pathways.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sports Management, Education, or a related field.
- Recognized coaching qualifications at a national or international level.
- Experience working in a boarding school environment.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to international sports markets.
