Job Description
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dialysis Unit Assistant at Cayuga Medical Center. Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with patient care activities in the dialysis unit.
- Prepare and maintain dialysis treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Monitor patients during treatment under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
- Document patient vital signs and observations accurately.
- Transport patients safely to and from treatment areas.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and alert staff when reordering is necessary.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients during their treatment.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and privacy regulations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong desire to learn and contribute to a healthcare team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willingness to obtain upon hire.
