Job Description

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dialysis Unit Assistant at Cayuga Medical Center. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing staff with patient care activities in the dialysis unit.
  • Prepare and maintain dialysis treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Monitor patients during treatment under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Document patient vital signs and observations accurately.
  • Transport patients safely to and from treatment areas.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and alert staff when reordering is necessary.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients during their treatment.
  • Adhere to all safety, infection control, and privacy regulations.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong desire to learn and contribute to a healthcare team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willingness to obtain upon hire.
