Job Description
As a Route Sales Representative, you will be responsible for selling and delivering our wide range of food products to an established customer base within a designated territory. This is a dynamic role combining sales, customer service, and logistics, utilizing a box truck for daily operations. Your success will be driven by your ability to build strong relationships, identify customer needs, and consistently meet sales targets, compensated by a competitive base salary plus commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck to deliver products to customers on a scheduled route.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their needs and promoting new products.
- Identify opportunities to grow sales within the assigned territory by upselling and cross-selling.
- Present and demonstrate new products, promotions, and services to customers.
- Process orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Handle cash and credit transactions, reconcile daily sales, and manage invoices.
- Ensure product freshness, proper rotation, and adherence to food safety standards.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and delivery logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and DOT regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven sales ability with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL Class B or higher is a plus, but not strictly required if you have experience with box trucks and a clean driving record).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a box truck or similar commercial vehicle.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in route sales or food distribution.
- Knowledge of the local Pasco, WA market.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with handheld sales devices or mobile ordering systems.
