Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Digital Asset Manager (DAM) to join our team in Seattle, with a specialized focus on managing and optimizing our vast Netflix media library. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of digital assets, ensuring they are properly ingested, tagged, stored, and easily accessible for internal and external partners. You will play a key part in maintaining the integrity and discoverability of our content, supporting the creative, marketing, and distribution efforts that bring Netflix stories to the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the ingestion, cataloging, and organization of digital media assets into the DAM system, specifically focusing on Netflix content.
  • Develop and enforce metadata standards, taxonomy, and file naming conventions to ensure consistency and searchability.
  • Oversee asset lifecycle management, including version control, rights management, and archiving of legacy assets.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on DAM best practices and system usage.
  • Collaborate with production, post-production, marketing, and legal teams to understand asset needs and ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct regular audits of the DAM system to maintain data integrity and optimize system performance.
  • Identify and implement improvements to DAM workflows and processes.
  • Manage user permissions and access levels within the DAM system.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to digital asset management.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with enterprise-level Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems.
  • Strong understanding of metadata schemas and taxonomy creation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of various media file formats (video, audio, image) and their specifications.
  • Experience with rights management and content licensing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with media production and post-production workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Technology, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience working with large-scale media libraries or streaming services.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation.
  • Experience with cloud-based DAM solutions.
