Job Description

Join the bustling team at Boston Tea Party as a Cafe Assistant! We’re looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to help us deliver exceptional service and maintain our high standards. This role is perfect for someone who loves working in a dynamic environment, enjoys interacting with people, and is passionate about great food and coffee. You’ll be a key part of our front-of-house team, ensuring every customer has a positive experience from the moment they walk through our doors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with menu choices.
  • Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffees.
  • Serve food items accurately and efficiently.
  • Process transactions using our POS system and handle cash/card payments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the cafe area, including tables, counters, and restrooms.
  • Restock supplies, cutlery, and condiments as needed.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures of the cafe.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve minor issues with a friendly attitude.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.

  • Ability to work daytime hours and weekends as required.
  • Basic numeracy for handling transactions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of coffee preparation (barista skills).
  • Food hygiene certificate (Level 1 or 2).
  • Experience with POS systems.
