Job Description
Walgreens is excited to offer an opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Tech Trainee in Sunnyvale, CA. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to start a rewarding career in the retail pharmacy sector, providing the foundational knowledge and hands-on experience needed to become a certified Pharmacy Technician. As a Pharmacy Tech Trainee, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and certified pharmacy technicians. You will learn the essential aspects of pharmacy operations, including customer service, prescription data entry, inventory management, and preparing medications for dispensing. This role is designed to prepare you for state certification and a successful career as a Pharmacy Technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists and certified technicians in filling prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service, including greeting patients, answering questions, and processing transactions.
- Enter prescription and patient information into the pharmacy system with precision.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with order placement.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with all safety and sanitation standards.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations regarding pharmacy practice and patient privacy (HIPAA).
- Participate in ongoing training and educational programs to prepare for pharmacy technician certification.
