Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused Mobile Car Battery Tester – Diagnostic Tasker to join our dynamic roadside assistance team in Baltimore, MD. In this crucial role, you will be dispatched to various locations to assess, test, and diagnose vehicle battery issues. Your primary goal will be to provide accurate diagnostics, perform on-site battery testing and replacements, and ensure our members receive prompt, efficient, and friendly service. This position requires strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. You will be operating a company-provided vehicle and utilizing specialized diagnostic tools to assist members in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to member locations in a company vehicle to provide roadside battery service.
- Perform comprehensive diagnostic tests on vehicle batteries and electrical systems.
- Accurately identify battery failures, charging system issues, and related electrical problems.
- Recommend and perform on-site battery replacements when necessary, adhering to safety protocols.
- Utilize specialized testing equipment to ensure precise diagnostics.
- Provide exceptional customer service, clearly explaining issues and solutions to members.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings.
- Ensure the company vehicle and equipment are well-maintained and in good working order.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
- Continuously update knowledge on new vehicle technologies and battery systems.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of automotive electrical systems and battery diagnostics.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to lift and install heavy batteries, and work in various weather conditions.
- Commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in roadside assistance, automotive repair, or a similar field.
- ASE certification (e.g., A6 Automotive Electrical/Electronic Systems).
- Familiarity with various vehicle makes and models.
- Proficiency with modern vehicle diagnostic software.
