Job Description
We are seeking skilled and reliable individuals for ad-hoc Outdoor Timber Maintenance Gigs, focusing on oiling and staining. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals or those looking to utilize their skills on a flexible, project-by-project basis in Coventry and the surrounding West Midlands area. You will be responsible for the preparation, application, and finishing of protective oils and stains on various outdoor timber structures, ensuring high standards of workmanship and durability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare timber surfaces for treatment, including cleaning, sanding, and minor repairs.
- Apply timber oils, stains, and protective coatings to outdoor structures such as fences, decks, sheds, and garden furniture.
- Ensure even and thorough application to achieve desired aesthetic and protective qualities.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality and address any imperfections.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Manage and maintain tools and equipment.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with clients or project managers regarding progress and any issues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in timber preparation and finishing, specifically with oils and stains.
- Knowledge of various timber types and appropriate treatment methods.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
