Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Theater Box Office Administrator to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth ticket operations and providing excellent customer service to our patrons. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, a passion for entertainment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be the first point of contact for many of our guests, playing a vital role in their overall experience at The Paramount Theatre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process ticket sales and exchanges accurately using our ticketing system.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Reconcile daily cash and credit card transactions, preparing daily sales reports.
  • Manage will-call ticket distribution efficiently.
  • Assist patrons with seating inquiries, accessibility needs, and general venue information.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints with professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and operations teams on event specifics and promotions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized box office area.
  • Stay updated on all upcoming events, promotions, and theater policies.
  • Train and supervise part-time box office staff as needed.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in ticketing software (e.g., Ticketmaster, AudienceView, Spektrix).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Cash handling and reconciliation experience.
  • Proven customer service experience in a public-facing role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Arts Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a theater, arena, or live entertainment venue.
  • Familiarity with the local Cedar Rapids arts and culture scene.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues related to ticketing systems.
