Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote macOS Systems Administrator to join our Enterprise IT Support team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management, maintenance, and support of our macOS ecosystem across the enterprise. This includes deploying and configuring macOS devices, ensuring system security, troubleshooting complex macOS issues, and providing expert-level support to our users. You will work within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, leveraging your deep knowledge of macOS to optimize performance and reliability, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our IT operations. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the UK, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of macOS devices within an enterprise environment.
- Manage macOS deployments, patching, and software distribution using Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (e.g., Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune).
- Ensure the security and compliance of macOS endpoints through policy enforcement, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Provide expert-level technical support for macOS operating systems, applications, and hardware to end-users.
- Develop and maintain documentation for macOS systems, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate macOS solutions into the broader IT infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical support needs, if required.
- Stay current with the latest macOS technologies, best practices, and security trends.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a macOS Systems Administrator in an enterprise setting.
- Expert-level knowledge of macOS operating systems (Ventura, Sonoma, etc.).
- Strong experience with MDM solutions for macOS (Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, etc.).
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation and task management.
- Solid understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and macOS network configuration.
- Experience with Active Directory or Azure AD integration with macOS.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to support users effectively remotely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or Apple Certified Technical Coordinator (ACTC) certification.
- Experience with virtualization technologies on macOS (e.g., Parallels, VMware Fusion).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with macOS environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices for service management.
- Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
