Job Description

Are you eager to start a career in the construction or flooring industry? Howdens Joinery Co. is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Click-Laminate Starter to join our team in Oxford. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals with little to no prior experience, offering comprehensive on-the-job training. You will learn the essential skills of laminate flooring installation, from preparing subfloors to cutting and fitting various types of click-laminate systems. If you have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a desire to build a skilled trade, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced flooring installers with the preparation of subfloors, including cleaning, levelling, and applying underlayment.
  • Learn to accurately measure and cut laminate boards to size using various tools.
  • Support the installation of click-laminate flooring, ensuring proper alignment and tight seams.
  • Help with the removal of old flooring materials and disposal of waste.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored safely.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and company procedures diligently.
  • Actively participate in training sessions and seek opportunities to learn new techniques.
