Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Nurse to join our team in a vibrant children’s hospital environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients, ranging from infants to adolescents, in various specialties.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and monitor vital signs and patient progress.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and home care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and holistic patient care.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Promote a child-friendly and safe environment for all patients.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Compassion, patience, and a strong commitment to patient advocacy.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) certification.
- Experience in a specialized pediatric unit (e.g., PICU, NICU, Oncology).
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English/Spanish).
