Job Description

AdventHealth Care Center New Port Richey is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Medication Aide. As a Medication Aide, you will play a crucial role in the well-being of our residents, assisting with medication administration under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Key Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications to residents according to facility policies and procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Observe residents for medication side effects and adverse reactions, reporting any concerns promptly to the supervising nurse.
- Document medication administration accurately and completely in resident records.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure medication cart and storage area.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, fostering an environment of independence and dignity.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure comprehensive and person-centered care.
- Participate in ongoing training and educational programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED (or actively working towards one)
- Strong desire to learn and grow in the healthcare field
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards residents
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Reliability and strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a caregiver role (formal or informal)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- CPR certification (can be obtained during training)
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a plus, but not required for this training role
