Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized University Campus Storeman to join our team in a dynamic student environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, receiving and stocking merchandise, assisting customers, and maintaining an orderly and efficient store operation. This role is crucial for ensuring students, faculty, and staff have access to the materials they need for academic success and campus life.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming merchandise, verifying against purchase orders.
- Organize and stock shelves, displays, and storage areas efficiently and neatly.
- Assist in inventory counts, reconciliations, and loss prevention efforts.
- Process returns and exchanges accurately according to store policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store and stockroom areas.
- Assist customers with locating products and provide basic product information.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems during peak periods as needed.
- Ensure proper labeling and pricing of all merchandise.
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures.
Required Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency for inventory tracking and POS systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, student-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail or warehouse operations, preferably in an academic setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management software.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
