Job Description
Join UPS as a Courier Associate and become an essential part of our delivery team! We are looking for dedicated and energetic individuals to deliver packages safely and efficiently to our customers in the Garden Grove area. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being on the go, interacting with people, and takes pride in providing excellent service. You’ll represent the UPS brand, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while upholding our high standards of professionalism. A professional uniform will be provided to all associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company vehicle to deliver and pick up packages in a timely and safe manner.
- Sort and load packages onto the delivery vehicle according to delivery sequence.
- Verify package contents with manifest and obtain necessary signatures.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and UPS safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance checks of the assigned vehicle.
- Handle packages of varying sizes and weights, including those requiring special handling.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and electronic scanning procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding route progress and challenges.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs independently and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven reliability and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy for handheld scanning devices.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a delivery, courier, or customer service role.
- Familiarity with the Garden Grove and surrounding Orange County area.
