Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our team as a Baggage Porter. This vital role involves providing exceptional service to our guests by assisting with their luggage and transportation needs within our resort environment. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of guest baggage, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from arrival to departure. This position requires a strong customer service orientation, a positive attitude, and the physical stamina to handle luggage and perform duties in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with loading and unloading luggage from vehicles.
- Safely transport guest luggage to and from rooms, ensuring items are handled with care.
- Assist guests with directions, information about resort amenities, and local attractions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lobby, baggage storage areas, and hotel entrance.
- Operate luggage carts and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with front desk staff, valets, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor issues promptly and courteously.
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures and report any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Assist guests with transportation services, including calling taxis or shuttles, and loading/unloading luggage.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Basic communication skills in English.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or airport environment.
- Knowledge of The Woodlands area and local attractions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (for potential valet duties or driving resort vehicles).
