Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems for alerts and anomalies, performing initial triage and investigation of security incidents.
- Respond to and resolve security incidents, including malware outbreaks, phishing attacks, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on systems and applications to identify weaknesses.
- Implement and manage security controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees.
- Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, analyses, and mitigation steps.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a cybersecurity role, including incident response or security operations.
- Strong understanding of network security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux) and common vulnerabilities.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel) for log analysis and threat detection.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
- Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
