Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Virtual Intake Specialist to join our team, supporting vital government projects. This is a 100% remote position. As a Virtual Intake Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking assistance or information related to various government programs and services. Your primary role will be to accurately collect and process information, guide callers through initial eligibility screenings, and ensure all inquiries are handled with empathy and efficiency. This role requires exceptional communication skills, a strong commitment to accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming inquiries via phone, email, and chat for government-related projects.
- Conduct initial intake assessments, gathering comprehensive information from individuals in a sensitive and confidential manner.
- Accurately document all interactions, information collected, and next steps in the designated CRM system.
- Provide clear, concise, and accurate information regarding government programs, services, and application processes.
- Screen individuals for basic eligibility criteria and refer them to appropriate departments or resources.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, empathy, and patience when interacting with all individuals.
- Adhere strictly to data privacy regulations and company policies for handling sensitive information.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure seamless service delivery and resolve complex issues.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on program changes and best practices.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other virtual communication tools.
- Strong active listening skills and ability to empathize with callers.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and information gathering.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with navigating multiple software applications simultaneously.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a call center, customer service, or intake role, especially in a virtual environment.
- Familiarity with government programs or public services.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish/English) is a plus.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
