Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Analytical Laboratory Supervisor to lead our dynamic team in Memphis, TN. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily laboratory operations, ensuring the highest standards of analytical testing, and fostering a collaborative environment for scientific excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of skilled analytical chemists, managing project timelines, validating new methodologies, and ensuring strict adherence to GMP/GLP regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of analytical chemists, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.
- Oversee the daily operation of the analytical laboratory, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
- Develop, validate, and implement new analytical methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with cGMP, GLP, and other relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Review and approve analytical data, reports, and laboratory investigations, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Manage and troubleshoot complex analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, Mass Spectrometry).
- Implement and maintain robust quality control systems, including OOS/OOT investigations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs departments.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.
- Strong expertise in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, IR, Mass Spectrometry.
- In-depth knowledge of cGMP, GLP, and FDA regulations.
- Proficiency in method development, validation, and transfer.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a scientific team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Experience with advanced statistical analysis software for data interpretation.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles for laboratory optimization.
- Familiarity with compendial testing (USP, EP, JP).
