Job Description

Join AccentCare as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and provide essential care and support to our patients in Fairbanks and surrounding suburbs. This role offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life while making a profound impact on individuals needing assistance with daily living. As an HHA, you will be a vital part of our patient’s care team, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life at home. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, meal preparation, and tidying living areas.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
  • Provide medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
  • Assist with safe patient transfers and ambulation.
  • Engage patients in conversation and provide companionship.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients.
  • Document services provided accurately and timely.
  • Adhere to all AccentCare policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.

Required Skills

  • Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in Alaska.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
  • Physical ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in home healthcare or a similar caregiving role.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR certification.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
