Job Description
Join AccentCare as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and provide essential care and support to our patients in Fairbanks and surrounding suburbs. This role offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to balance your professional and personal life while making a profound impact on individuals needing assistance with daily living. As an HHA, you will be a vital part of our patient’s care team, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life at home. We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated individuals committed to providing the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, meal preparation, and tidying living areas.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
- Provide medication reminders as directed by the care plan.
- Assist with safe patient transfers and ambulation.
- Engage patients in conversation and provide companionship.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients.
- Document services provided accurately and timely.
- Adhere to all AccentCare policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
Required Skills
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in Alaska.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
- Physical ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in home healthcare or a similar caregiving role.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
