Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and exceptionally precise WFH Transcriptionist with a proven background in legal and court transcription. This fully remote role requires an individual who is meticulous, has an impeccable understanding of legal terminology, and can accurately transcribe complex audio recordings of legal proceedings, interviews, and dictations. You will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our legal documentation, working from the comfort of your home office. This position demands a strong commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe legal proceedings, depositions, client interviews, and other legal audio recordings into written format.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents to ensure 100% accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and legal terminology.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all sensitive legal information and client data.
- Adhere to established formatting guidelines and turnaround times for all transcription projects.
- Utilize transcription software and tools effectively to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with legal teams and other staff regarding project status and any clarification needed.
- Manage and prioritize multiple transcription tasks to meet deadlines.
Required Skills
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 80 WPM).
- In-depth knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and various legal document formats.
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Proficiency with transcription software and office productivity tools (e.g., MS Word).
- Superior listening skills and acute attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of dedicated experience in legal and/or court transcription.
- Completion of a recognized legal secretarial or paralegal program.
- Certification in legal transcription or a related field.
- Experience with specific legal transcription platforms or case management systems.
