Job Description

We are seeking empathetic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Live-in Companion Carers in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This unique opportunity offers rent-free accommodation as part of your compensation package, along with comprehensive, full training – no prior experience is required. As a Live-in Companion Carer, you will provide essential support and companionship to a client in their home, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role is perfect for someone looking to make a meaningful impact, develop valuable caregiving skills, and live comfortably while doing so. You will become an integral part of our client’s daily life, offering not just practical assistance but also genuine human connection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to the client.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, light housekeeping, and personal care as needed.
  • Support medication reminders and appointment scheduling.
  • Engage clients in stimulating activities, hobbies, and social interactions.
  • Accompany clients on outings, errands, and medical appointments.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the client's health or well-being to the care team.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment.
  • Adhere to Bayshore Home Health's policies, procedures, and care plans.

  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • First Aid and CPR certification (training can be provided).
  • Experience in a customer service or support role.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (asset, but not always required).
