Job Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical Online Google Specialist to join our Technical Documentation team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for ensuring our technical documentation is discoverable, accurate, and optimized across Google platforms, including Google Search, Google Support, and other relevant Google services. You will work closely with technical writers, product managers, and SEO specialists to enhance the online presence and user experience of our extensive library of technical content.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing technical documentation for Google Search and other Google properties.
- Perform regular audits of documentation content to identify opportunities for improved search engine visibility and user engagement.
- Collaborate with technical writers to ensure content is structured, tagged, and written in a way that aligns with SEO best practices and Google guidelines.
- Monitor search performance metrics, analyze data, and report on the effectiveness of optimization efforts.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Google algorithm changes, search trends, and best practices in technical SEO and content discoverability.
- Provide recommendations and insights to improve the overall architecture and information hierarchy of our online documentation.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in SEO, content strategy, or a related field with a focus on technical content.
- Proven understanding of Google's search algorithms, ranking factors, and webmaster guidelines.
- Proficiency with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and other SEO tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with technical documentation concepts and content management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with enterprise-level SaaS products and their associated technical documentation.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they pertain to SEO and web content optimization.
- Experience using Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar advanced SEO research tools.
