Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Roll-Off Truck Operator to join our environmental services team in St. George, Utah. As a crucial member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a roll-off truck to collect and transport various waste materials, recycling, and construction debris from customer sites to designated disposal or processing facilities. This role requires adherence to all safety protocols, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a roll-off truck on designated routes, including backing and maneuvering in tight spaces.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, completing necessary reports.
  • Collect, transport, and unload various materials such as waste, recyclables, and construction debris.
  • Ensure proper placement and securement of containers on and off the truck.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including DOT and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, mileage, and service calls.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicle as needed and report major issues promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service by being courteous and responsive to customer needs.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement.
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional truck driving experience.
  • Clean driving record (MVR) for the past three years.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and climbing.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle safety standards.
  • Ability to operate vehicles in all weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating roll-off trucks specifically.
  • Previous experience in the waste management or environmental services industry.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
