Job Description
Are you a budding graphic designer eager to build a standout portfolio and gain real-world experience? Canva is looking for a passionate and creative Online Graphic Design Intern to join our remote team. This is an incredible opportunity to work on diverse design projects, develop your skills under mentorship, and significantly enhance your professional portfolio. You will contribute to various internal and external creative initiatives, learning the ropes of design in a fast-paced tech environment. This role is 100% remote, offering flexibility and the chance to collaborate with a global team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of visual content for marketing materials, social media, presentations, and internal communications.
- Develop and refine design concepts based on project briefs and feedback.
- Collaborate with marketing, content, and product teams to ensure brand consistency and design effectiveness.
- Maintain and organize design assets, ensuring they are accessible and up-to-date.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh ideas to creative projects.
- Research current design trends and techniques to continually enhance design quality.
- Prepare design files for various platforms and outputs, ensuring technical specifications are met.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or similar tools like Figma, Sketch, Canva Pro).
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
- A keen eye for aesthetics and detail.
- Ability to take constructive feedback and iterate on designs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- A strong online portfolio (even if academic or personal projects) demonstrating creative potential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/certificate in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with motion graphics or video editing software is a plus.
- Familiarity with digital marketing concepts and social media platforms.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles.
