Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Agronomist / Crop Scientist to join our dynamic research and development team in Windsor, Berkshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about agricultural innovation and sustainable farming practices. In this role, you will contribute to the research, development, and evaluation of new crop solutions, helping farmers maximize yields and manage crop health effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and analyze field trials for new crop protection products and seed varieties.
- Collect and interpret data on crop performance, soil health, and pest/disease incidence.
- Provide expert agronomic advice and technical support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including breeders, chemists, and regulatory specialists.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory changes in agriculture.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on research findings.
- Ensure all research activities comply with safety protocols and ethical guidelines.
Required Skills
- PhD or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Pathology, Soil Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in agricultural research, field trials, or crop management.
- Strong understanding of crop physiology, plant protection, and soil science principles.
- Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and statistical software (e.g., R, SAS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel for field work as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with precision agriculture technologies and digital farming tools.
- Knowledge of local agricultural practices and crop systems in the UK or similar temperate regions.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for agricultural products.
- Demonstrated experience in scientific publication or presentation at conferences.
