Job Description

IBM is seeking a highly motivated AI Product Design Intern with a strong UX/UI focus to join our innovative team in Greensboro, North Carolina. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct user research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to inform design decisions for AI products.
- Translate user needs, business requirements, and technical constraints into compelling UX/UI designs.
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Develop high-fidelity prototypes and mockups for AI product features.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to iterate on designs and ensure feasibility.
- Participate in design critiques, present design concepts, and advocate for user-centered design principles.
- Stay updated on the latest AI trends, design tools, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts.
- Strong visual design skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A portfolio demonstrating academic or personal UX/UI projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with user research methods and tools.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
- Exposure to front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Prior experience in designing for AI/ML applications or data visualization.
