Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and discreet Alcohol & Tobacco Compliance Checker with a special focus on ensuring adherence to laws regarding sales to individuals under 21. This critical role involves conducting covert visits to Walgreens locations and other retail partners to verify that store associates are properly checking identification and refusing sales of alcohol and tobacco products to underage individuals. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, possess a strong sense of integrity, and be committed to upholding public health and safety standards. This role plays a vital part in our company’s dedication to responsible retailing and community welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct unannounced, covert visits to assigned retail locations to observe and document alcohol and tobacco sales practices.
- Verify that store associates are requesting valid government-issued identification from all customers appearing to be under the age of 30 for age-restricted product purchases.
- Document instances of non-compliance, including failure to request ID or sale to visibly underage individuals (simulated or real, under strict guidelines).
- Prepare detailed and accurate written reports for each visit, outlining observations, findings, and any non-compliant actions.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding audit schedules, methodologies, and findings.
- Adhere to all legal guidelines and company policies regarding compliance checks.
- Provide clear, factual, and unbiased reports without personal bias or judgment.
- Communicate effectively with compliance management regarding significant findings or trends.
