Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analytical Chemist with a strong focus on modern instrumentation to join our dynamic team in Lexington, KY. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of both on-site laboratory work and remote contributions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, validating, and executing analytical methods for a variety of sample types, primarily utilizing advanced chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our analytical data, contributing to research and development, quality control, and problem-solving initiatives. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to scientific rigor and data excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and validate analytical methods using a range of modern instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS, and Spectroscopy (UV-Vis, IR).
- Perform routine and non-routine analysis of samples, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments, ensuring peak performance and calibration.
- Conduct method transfers and participate in continuous improvement initiatives for laboratory processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, QC, and manufacturing, to support project goals.
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., GLP, GMP) and internal SOPs.
- Analyze data, identify trends, and provide scientific insights to support decision-making.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all experimental procedures and results.
- Mentor junior staff and share expertise in instrumentation and analytical techniques.
Required Skills
- Expertise in operating and troubleshooting modern analytical instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS).
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles and method development/validation (ICH guidelines).
- Proficiency in data acquisition, processing, and interpretation using relevant software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Experience in a regulated laboratory environment (GLP/GMP).
- Knowledge of statistical analysis for method validation and data interpretation.
- Experience with automation in analytical workflows.
- Familiarity with environmental, pharmaceutical, or food testing matrices.
