Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Health Music Lead with a strong clinical focus to join our team in Cinco Ranch, TX. This pivotal role involves leading the development and implementation of music therapy programs within our behavioral health services, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care and patient outcomes. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership, supervise a team of music therapists, and contribute to an innovative and compassionate environment focused on holistic patient well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive music therapy programs for diverse behavioral health populations.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to a team of board-certified music therapists.
  • Conduct advanced music therapy assessments, treatment planning, and direct patient care in individual and group settings.
  • Ensure program adherence to all regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to integrate music therapy into overall treatment plans.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through data collection and outcome measurement, presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to staff education and professional development initiatives within the behavioral health department.
  • Manage resources and budget allocated to the music therapy program.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and advocate for music therapy services within the organization and wider community.

Required Skills

  • Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-certification clinical experience in behavioral health settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Expertise in various music therapy interventions and theoretical frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and program management abilities.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Music Therapy or a related field.
  • Experience with program development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience working with diverse age groups (adolescent, adult, geriatric) in behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of local and national behavioral health regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Active participation in professional music therapy organizations.
