Job Description
Music & Arts in Davenport, Iowa is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Brass Teacher with a primary focus on Trumpet and Trombone for weekend instruction. This part-time role is perfect for passionate educators looking to inspire students of all ages and skill levels in a supportive and engaging environment. You will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized lessons, fostering musical growth, and cultivating a love for brass instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging and effective one-on-one or group lessons in Trumpet and Trombone on weekends.
- Develop personalized lesson plans tailored to student goals, skill levels, and learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and other performance opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians regarding progress and goals.
- Maintain a professional and positive learning environment.
- Stay current with best teaching practices and brass pedagogy.
Required Skills
- Exceptional proficiency and performance ability on Trumpet and Trombone.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching brass instruments to diverse age groups.
- Strong understanding of music theory, technique, and repertoire for brass.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to commit to a regular weekend teaching schedule.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for music education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field.
- Experience teaching multiple brass instruments (e.g., French horn, Tuba).
- Performance experience in orchestral, jazz, or chamber ensembles.
- Experience using various teaching methods and materials for brass instruction.
