Job Description
Join the Home Instead team as a Caregiver and make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors in New Port Richey and surrounding areas. This vital role involves providing compassionate in-home care, companionship, and daily assistance to our clients. We understand the commitment it takes to travel to our clients’ homes, which is why we are offering a daily bonus for commuting and travel. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as conversation, games, and light exercise.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry and tidying living areas.
- Assist with medication reminders and appointment scheduling.
- Provide safe and reliable transportation for clients to appointments, errands, and social outings.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition or behavior to supervisory staff.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients and their families.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Required Skills
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Proof of auto insurance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a compassionate nature
- Ability to perform light physical duties including bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (personal or professional)
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Basic knowledge of senior care and common age-related conditions
- Ability to adapt to various living environments and client needs
