Job Description
Swift Transportation is seeking highly motivated and experienced CDL-A Over-the-Road (OTR) Drivers to join our growing fleet. We offer competitive pay with a high cents per mile (CPM) rate and a fantastic $5,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. As an OTR Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods across long distances, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle over long distances.
- Transport goods across state lines and deliver them to various customer locations.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and other required documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight.
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Manage fuel efficiently and adhere to designated routes.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable OTR driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage routes efficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- Hazmat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- Reefer (refrigerated) trailer experience
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Strong geographical knowledge of the continental USA
