Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Curriculum Developer / Designer to join our innovative team in Stamford, Connecticut. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and revising high-quality educational content and learning experiences across various subjects and platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of instructional design principles, learning theories, and content creation best practices. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and multimedia specialists to produce engaging and effective curricula that meet diverse learning needs and align with educational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive curriculum materials, including lesson plans, assessments, activities, and digital learning modules.
- Apply instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to ensure content is engaging, effective, and aligned with learning objectives.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content, validate accuracy, and ensure pedagogical soundness.
- Conduct thorough research to ensure curriculum content is current, relevant, and evidence-based.
- Review, revise, and update existing curriculum to incorporate feedback, new educational trends, and technological advancements.
- Develop assessment strategies and tools to measure learning outcomes and curriculum effectiveness.
- Work closely with project managers to adhere to project timelines and deliverables.
- Ensure all curriculum materials comply with accessibility standards and company guidelines.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or a related educational field.
- Proven experience with various instructional design models and learning theories.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with an acute attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using authoring tools and learning management systems (LMS).
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to transform complex information into clear, concise, and engaging learning content.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with digital content creation and multimedia development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate).
- Familiarity with K-12 and/or higher education curriculum standards.
- Experience in a corporate learning and development environment.
- Certification in instructional design or e-learning development.
