Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dermatology Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team in New Port Richey, FL. This vital role focuses on both cosmetic and medical dermatology, offering a diverse patient population and a broad range of clinical challenges. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dermatological care, including diagnosing and treating various skin conditions, performing cosmetic procedures, and educating patients on skin health and disease prevention. You will work autonomously yet collaboratively with our team of board-certified dermatologists and support staff, contributing to an environment of excellence in patient care and clinical innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dermatological assessments, including medical history and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin cancer.
- Perform various in-office procedures such as biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, and lesion removal.
- Administer cosmetic treatments including Botox, dermal fillers, chemical peels, and laser therapies.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and pathology reports.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring patient understanding and compliance.
- Educate patients on proper skincare, disease prevention, sun protection, and post-procedure care.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHRs).
- Collaborate effectively with supervising physicians, medical assistants, and administrative staff.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.
Required Skills
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Florida.
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program.
- Nurse Practitioner certification (NP-C or FNP-BC) from an accredited organization.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in dermatology or a related specialty.
- BLS certification.
- Proficiency in performing dermatological procedures and cosmetic injections.
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific dermatological EHR systems.
- Active membership in professional dermatology organizations (e.g., SDNP, AAD).
- Certification in specific laser therapies or advanced cosmetic procedures.
