Job Description

Getty Images is seeking a dedicated Digital Archivist with a strong photo focus to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote opportunity to contribute to the preservation and accessibility of one of the world’s most extensive visual archives. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the meticulous organization, cataloging, and preservation of a vast collection of digital photographic assets. You will play a vital part in ensuring the long-term integrity and discoverability of our visual content, making it accessible to creative professionals and media organizations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Digitize and catalog physical photographs and other visual media, ensuring high-quality conversion and accurate representation.
- Apply comprehensive metadata, keywords, and descriptive information to digital assets to enhance searchability and context.
- Maintain and update our advanced digital asset management (DAM) systems, ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
- Ensure strict compliance with industry archival standards and best practices for digital preservation.
- Collaborate effectively with content creators, curators, and other internal teams to facilitate efficient asset discovery and utilization.
- Perform rigorous quality control on archived images and associated data to uphold Getty Images' high standards.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in utilizing digital asset management (DAM) systems.
- Strong understanding of various photographic formats and metadata standards (e.g., EXIF, IPTC).
- Exceptional organizational skills and an unwavering attention to detail.
- Familiarity with professional image editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise interaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Archival Studies, Photography, or a closely related field.
- Previous experience managing or contributing to large-scale digital archiving projects.
- Solid knowledge of copyright and intellectual property rights relevant to visual content.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus, enabling broader content interpretation.
