Job Description
Join the UPS team as a Drivers Mate / Porter! This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and hardworking individuals to contribute to our world-class logistics operations. You’ll be an integral part of our delivery team, assisting drivers with the safe and efficient delivery and collection of packages. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy early starts, and are looking for weekly pay, this role is for you. No prior experience is necessary – we provide comprehensive training!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist drivers with loading and unloading packages from delivery vehicles.
- Safely and efficiently handle packages of varying sizes and weights.
- Navigate routes alongside the driver, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with drivers and team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the vehicle and at the depot.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service during delivery interactions.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs (with assistance when needed).
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently when required.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehousing, logistics, or delivery support role.
- Familiarity with local Louisville area routes.
- Valid driver's license (not required for this role but a plus for future growth).
