Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate EA Sports NHL Beta Lead with a specific focus on night shift operations to join our quality assurance team. This fully remote role is crucial for ensuring the stability, performance, and overall quality of our highly anticipated NHL titles. You will lead a team of beta testers during critical night hours, overseeing testing efforts, reporting issues, and collaborating with development teams to refine the game experience. Your expertise will directly impact the player experience for millions of fans worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of remote beta testers during designated night shift hours, ensuring comprehensive test coverage for EA Sports NHL titles.
  • Develop and implement detailed test plans and strategies tailored for beta testing phases.
  • Monitor testing progress, prioritize critical issues, and ensure timely and accurate bug reporting using internal tracking tools.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the night shift beta team, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
  • Collaborate closely with development, design, and production teams to communicate findings and facilitate issue resolution.
  • Conduct regular reviews of bug reports to ensure clarity, reproducibility, and completeness.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports on beta testing activities and game quality to stakeholders.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the game's features, mechanics, and technical requirements.
  • Foster a positive and productive team environment, promoting effective communication and collaboration.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in game quality assurance, beta testing, or a related role, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated expertise and passion for EA Sports NHL or other hockey simulation games.
  • Strong understanding of game development lifecycles and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Proficiency with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) and test management tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work night shift hours as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field.
  • Previous experience leading remote or distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with various game platforms (console, PC, mobile) and their specific testing requirements.
  • Experience with live service game testing and community feedback integration.
