Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tractor-Trailer Operator to join our team for a regional route based out of New Port Richey, FL. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods across our regional network. As a FedEx operator, you will be responsible for transporting freight, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintaining accurate logs. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a tractor-trailer safely and efficiently over regional routes, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight, following established schedules and routes.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELDs) and other required paperwork.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving regulations.
- Properly secure freight to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and logistics teams regarding any delays, issues, or route changes.
- Represent FedEx professionally and courteously at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety procedures
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight as needed
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with regional or multi-stop delivery routes
- Hazmat endorsement
- Experience operating various types of tractor-trailer equipment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
