Job Description
Jerome’s Furniture is seeking energetic and reliable Furniture Delivery Porters (Mates) to join our dynamic delivery team in Chula Vista. As a Porter, you will be an essential part of ensuring our customers receive their new furniture safely and efficiently. This role involves significant heavy lifting, navigating various residential environments, and providing exceptional customer service alongside our skilled drivers. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the driver in safely loading and unloading furniture items from the delivery truck.
- Carefully transport furniture into customers' homes, navigating tight spaces and varying floor plans.
- Assemble basic furniture pieces as required on site.
- Inspect furniture for damage and report any issues promptly.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Ensure all delivery paperwork is completed accurately.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery truck and work area.
- Handle heavy lifting and repetitive tasks with proper technique and stamina.
Required Skills
- Ability to repeatedly lift and move heavy furniture (over 75 lbs) with assistance.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to service excellence.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in moving, delivery, or warehouse roles.
- Experience with furniture assembly.
- Knowledge of local Chula Vista/San Diego area geography.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
