Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Garden Cabin Stainer to join our team in Sunderland. In this role, you will be responsible for refreshing the appearance of various wooden garden structures, primarily cabins and sheds, by applying stains and protective coatings. This position requires an eye for detail, a steady hand, and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes that enhance the longevity and aesthetic appeal of our products and displays.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare wooden surfaces for staining by cleaning, sanding, and minor repairs.
- Apply wood stains, varnishes, and protective coatings evenly and efficiently.
- Select appropriate colors and finishes based on project specifications or design guidelines.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean and organized, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring consistency and client satisfaction.
- Maintain tools and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or needs for replacement.
- Work collaboratively with the wider garden and outdoor living team.
- Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in application.
- Basic understanding of wood types and appropriate staining techniques.
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift materials as required.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in painting, staining, or similar carpentry finishing roles.
- Knowledge of different wood stains, sealants, and their application methods.
- Full UK driving license to potentially travel between sites (though primarily based in Sunderland).
- Certification in health and safety practices relevant to construction or retail environments.
