Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our dynamic team, supporting patients in their homes across the San Diego area. This role involves providing essential personal care, companionship, and support to individuals needing assistance with daily living activities. You will be instrumental in helping patients maintain their independence and quality of life. The position requires flexibility for 12-hour day and night shift rotations, ensuring continuous, high-quality care for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help with ambulation and transfers, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with light meal preparation.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Monitor and report changes in patient's condition to the supervising nurse.
- Offer companionship and engage patients in stimulating activities.
- Document care provided accurately and timely.
- Adhere to all Scripps Health policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in California.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable demeanor.
- Ability to lift and move patients as required.
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a home health or direct patient care setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
