Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated High School Farm Hands to join our team. This part-time role offers an excellent opportunity for local students to gain hands-on experience in horticulture, learn about plant care, and contribute to the operations of our vibrant nursery. Perfect for individuals passionate about the outdoors and eager to develop new skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planting, potting, and repotting various plants and succulents.
- Perform regular watering and monitor plant health.
- Conduct weeding and general cleanliness of garden beds and nursery areas.
- Help with moving and organizing plant inventory.
- Prepare soil mixes and other growing media.
- Support customers with loading plants into vehicles.
- Learn about different plant species and their specific care requirements.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with gardening, farming, or outdoor work (not required but a plus).
- A genuine interest in plants, horticulture, or agriculture.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the nursery.
