Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Energy Sector Data Specialist with a strong research focus to join our team in Greeley, CO. In this role, you will be instrumental in analyzing complex datasets related to oil and gas exploration, production, and market trends. Your primary responsibility will be to extract actionable insights, develop predictive models, and support strategic decision-making through rigorous data analysis and research methodologies. This position requires a deep understanding of the energy industry, advanced data analysis techniques, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, concise reports and presentations for various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and validate large datasets from various sources within the energy sector.
- Perform in-depth statistical analysis and develop predictive models for production forecasts, market trends, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct comprehensive research on emerging energy technologies, policy changes, and competitive landscapes.
- Design and implement data visualization dashboards to communicate key findings and insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including geologists, engineers, and business strategists to understand data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings and data-driven recommendations for senior management.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, data science advancements, and new analytical tools.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of energy sector dynamics, including upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.
- Proven experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field.
- Familiarity with geospatial data analysis (GIS) and its application in the energy sector.
