Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Terminal Operator to join our team in Houston, Texas. As a Terminal Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of pipeline and terminal facilities, including product movements, storage, loading/unloading of vessels, trucks, and railcars, and maintaining equipment. This direct-hire position is critical to our midstream operations, ensuring the seamless flow of energy products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, a solid understanding of terminal operations, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate pumps, valves, compressors, and other terminal equipment to facilitate product transfers.
  • Monitor tank levels, pressures, and temperatures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Perform loading and unloading of crude oil, refined products, or petrochemicals from barges, ships, trucks, and railcars.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities, identifying and reporting any abnormalities or maintenance needs.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Complete accurate documentation and record-keeping of all product movements and operational activities.
  • Respond effectively to alarms, emergencies, and operational upsets.
  • Collaborate with control room operators, maintenance personnel, and other team members.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in terminal, refinery, or petrochemical plant operations.
  • Proven knowledge of hazardous materials handling and safety procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PFDs, and operating manuals.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and reporting.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Process Technology or a related field.
  • Experience with SCADA systems and distributed control systems (DCS).
  • Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Experience with marine loading/unloading operations.
